A word about computer viruses .....

In this day and age it is becoming all too common for our e-mail inboxes to be full of spam and have e-mails with viruses.  Our members do all in their power to prevent viruses that arrive in the Cats' Aid mail boxes from reaching their PCs that would be passed on to others.

Have you received an e-mail from us with a virus?

It has come to our notice that e-mails have been received by people with viruses attached that supposedly come from Cats' Aid.  This not so and we would like to point out that if you get an unsolicited e-mail from Cats' Aid with an attachment, DO NOT OPEN the attachment.  If you need advice on this please contact our webmaster.

What should you do for protection?

In order to protect yourselves it is vital that your PC has antivirus software installed on it but, more importantly, it needs to updated at least once a week to be effective.  The software can be configured to automatically ask you to update the virus list every day or week or it can be configured to automatically connect to the Internet at the same time each day (or week) and download the list automatically.  Norton antivirus software is available from the web and in most computer stores.
