Sponsor a Cat or Kitten

Updated May 10

We are urgently in need of people willing to sponsor cats and kittens that Cats Aid have permanently in their care because for one reason or another they cannot be re-homed. Cats Aid will not have any cats put to sleep that can be given a comfortable life.

The 19 special cats below & the Colony are just some of those in our care.

Please leave your name, address and an evening landline tel. no. when you phone us on (01) 6683529
or email us at catsaid@gmail.com.  Thank you.

Cats Aid has recently become aware of a colony of 14 cats & 3 kittens living in the grounds of a hotel & golf complex.

At present they are being fed by a lady living on the complex. The future of the hotel is in doubt; the staff & mamagement don't want these cats,so the cats face a very uncertain future.

We have already spayed 8 females; now 6 males need to be neutered; also the 3 kittens when they are old enough (they are approx 16 weeks old at present.)

We are looking for sponsorship for neutering these males. Long term sponsorship is also needed for individual cats for their future care. Farm/outdoor homes would be welcome for these cats.

Sponsor Buster
'' Buster was evicted from the garden which was the only shelter he knew when the owner of the garden moved and he was left to fend for himself.  Buster was obviously never going to be tame enough to home, so he went to live as an outdoor cat with one of our volunteers.
If you would like to sponsor this appealing chap, please contact Cats Aid on (01) 668 3529 or email catsaid@gmail.com or use our Online Donation link.
Sponsor Keaton
'' Keaton is about 5 years old. He has always been an outdoor cat and is too timid to be rehomed. He condescends to accept some food and comfort when the mood takes him! He is an undemanding, independent cat, but sponsorship for Keaton would be very helpful.
If you would like to help look after Keaton by sponsoring him, contact us on (01) 668 3529 or email catsaid@gmail.com or use our Online Donation link.
Sponsor Shatual
'' Shatual is a 4 year old male cat who was rescued by Cats Aid after the owner brought him in to be put down because he didn't want him.  He is not suitable for homing because he is very timid.
If you would like to help look after Shatual by sponsoring him, contact us on (01) 668 3529 or email catsaid@gmail.com or use our Online Donation link.
Sponsor Tumble
'' Tumble is Mindy’s brother. They are very alike but Tumble is much bigger a lovely handsome long haired fella!  Tumble and Mindy came into our care aged 6 weeks. Tumble was covered in lice when he arrived and although this was successfully treated immediately, his coat remained in a poor condition for a while and he was also very shy so when potential new owners came to see this little quiet kitten, they didn’t see his potential and they didn’t give him a chance so no one came forward to offer him & his sister a home. Tumble is now 9 years old and is a great big beautiful gentle sweetheart!
If you would like to sponsor this handsome fellow, please contact Cats Aid on (01) 668 3529 or email catsaid@gmail.com or use our Online Donation link.
Sponsor Scarper
'' Scarper is a lovely female black cat aged approximately 2 years. She came from Saggart village and appeared to have been dumped. She spent her time running around a block of shops in a terrified state until someone phoned us to come and help. We trapped her and brought her into our care, but she remains extremely nervous and timid and gets very frightened if anyone attempts to touch her.  We have decided she is far too nervous to be rehomed so she will stay with the core group volunteer who rescued her.
If you would like to support Scarper by sponsoring her, contact us on (01) 668 3529 or email catsaid@gmail.com or use our Online Donation link.
Sponsor Teddy
'' Teddy is a 7 year old male cat, big and cuddly.  He cannot be homed because he sprays everywhere!!
If you would like to sponsor Teddy, please contact Cats’ Aid on (01) 668 3529 or email catsaid@gmail.com or use our Online Donation link.
Sponsor Sylvia
''

''
Ok I have to be honest... "Who is Sylvia?" Sylvia has more complexes than any cat I have come across. She is stunning and she knows it, she is stubborn and she don't care who knows it. A roly poly black and white girl age approx. 7 years. She loves her food though. Sylvia was left behind on a rural property. She had been spayed, thank goodness, but left to her own devices she became very independent. The property was finally sold and "Get that cat away" was the order. She has a secure home with one of our volunteers, and by her own choice she lives mainly outside. She is very timid and shies away from human contact. Sylvia has been with us for a while because we found it difficult to rehome her due to her independent and timid nature. She cannot be easily handled, but one of her many endearing qualities is that she will bring you mice by the dozen!
If you would like to sponsor Sylvia, please contact Cats Aid on (01) 668 3529 or email catsaid@gmail.com or use our Online Donation link.
Sponsor Peaches
''
              Peaches
''
      Peaches & Daisy
Peaches came into our care in June 2005 aged 3 years. She was very very timid and nervous, and sadly, despite receiving lots of TLC, this lovely cat has never lost her nervousness… we can only wonder what bad experiences she must have had in her life before she was brought to us. We feel she is too timid to be moved to a new home, but she is happy and content where she is and she knows she is safe and warm there.  She is afraid of people but enjoys the company of the other permanent foster cats, like Daisy.
If you would like to sponsor Peaches, please contact Cats Aid on (01) 668 3529 or email catsaid@gmail.com or use our Online Donation link.
Sponsor Mindy
'' Mindy was born on July 15th 1998. She is now nearly 9 years old. She is very nervous of strangers and cannot be rehomed. She loves to hunt and likes her breakfast hot!
If you would like to help look after Mindy by sponsoring, contact us on (01) 668 3529 or email catsaid@gmail.com or use our Online Donation link.
Sponsor Earth, Wind & Fire

                  Fire
Earth is 3 years old, and has white, ginger and black colouring.  She is the mother of Fire, who is a female white & ginger cat, aged one year. Wind is a cousin, a female tortoiseshell coloured cat aged approx. 15 months.  They were all living rough with Wind’s mother in the middle of a big public park in Dublin. The four of them were living on the perimeter of the park in old disused farm buildings. People living nearby used to feed them but they contacted us when tragically Wind’s mother was killed by a dog and they rightly felt that the remaining three cats were in danger. One of our core group members went along, caught the three cats and brought them into our care, where they were immediately fully health checked by a vet, and were all neutered and vaccinated.  Earth, Wind & Fire are all very timid and nervous, especially with strangers. There is hope for them, but it has been very slow going over the past 6 months since we rescued them.
If you would like to help with the cost of caring for Earth, Wind & Fire, then please consider sponsoring one of them by contacting Cats Aid on (01) 668 3529 or email catsaid@gmail.com or use our Online Donation link.
Sponsor Felix
'' Felix is the brother of Rachel and he is approximately 6 years old.  He is a well-rounded semi long-haired cat and is still a kitten at heart. Felix has the look of innocence, even when he has been slightly naughty. He socialises well with other cats and enjoys the outdoor life and the thrill of the hunt. It takes Felix a long time to get to know humans, but when he does he is loving and gentle, although he will still retain his independent nature. It is for this reason, his semi feral tendencies, that we have decided Felix is not really suitable for rehoming. Perhaps a special rural property would best suit his needs, but for the past few years he has happily lived on the residence of one of our core group members.
If you would like to sponsor Felix, please contact Cats Aid on (01) 668 3529  or email catsaid@gmail.com or use our Online Donation link.
Sponsor Rachel
'' Rachel is a beautiful tortie approximately 6 years old. She is the brother of Felix (above). She is spayed and vaccinated, very friendly and loves the company of other cats.  Like her brother, she is semi feral, but lives very happily with her brother in one of our core group member’s homes.
If you would like to help look after Rachel by sponsoring her, contact us on (01) 668 3529 or email catsaid@gmail.com or use our Online Donation link.
Sponsor Herbert
'' Herbert is camera shy & won't co-operate with our resident feline photographer!  We can tell you that he is a handsome brown tabby.  Herbert was rescued from Herbert Park in October 2006 when he, his mother and brother were threatened with extermination as vermin. He was only about 8 months old. He spent a miserable week or two being boarded in kennels and it became obvious that this terrified timid little boy wasn't suitable for homing. Sadly he had to be separated from his family but he is now living happily as an outdoor cat with one of our volunteers and her other feline companions. Herbert has had such a tough start to his young life – your sponsorship could make things better.
If you would like to sponsor this shy chap, please contact Cats Aid on (01) 668 3529 or email catsaid@gmail.com or use our Online Donation link.
