Sponsorship Appeal
(Page updated: May 2007)
Could you sponsor a cat or kitten?
We are urgently in need of people willing to sponsor cats and
kittens that Cats' Aid have
permanently in their care because for one
reason or another they cannot be re-homed.
Cats' Aid will not
have any cats put to sleep that can be given a comfortable life.

Buster
|
“Buster” has
always lived rough.
He was evicted from the garden which was
the only shelter he knew when the owner of
the garden moved and he was left to fend for
himself. Buster was
obviously never going to
be tame enough to home, so he went to live
as an outdoor cat with one of our volunteers.
If you would like to sponsor this appealing chap,
please contact Cats’ Aid on (01) 668 3529.

Keaton
|
“Keaton” is
Buster's son.
He is about 4 years old. He has always been
an outdoor cat and is too timid to be rehomed.
He condescends to accept some food and
comfort when the mood takes him! He is an
undemanding, independent cat, but sponsorship
for Keaton would be very helpful.
If you would like to help look after Keaton by
sponsoring him, please contact us on (01) 668 3529.

Earth

Wind

Fire
|
“Earth”, “Wind” & “Fire”
Earth is 3 years old, and has white, ginger and
black colouring. She
is the mother of Fire, who
is a female white & ginger cat, aged one year.
Wind is a cousin, a female tortoiseshell coloured
cat aged approx. 15 months. They
were all
living rough with Wind’s mother in the middle
of a big public park in Dublin. The four of them
were living on the perimeter of the park in old
disused farm buildings. People living nearby
used to feed them but they contacted us when
tragically Wind’s mother was killed by a dog
and they rightly felt that the remaining three
cats were in danger.
One of our core group members went along,
caught the three cats and brought them into our
care, where they were immediately fully health
checked by a vet, and were all neutered and
vaccinated. Earth,
Wind & Fire are all very
timid and nervous, especially with strangers.
There is hope for them, but it has been very slow
going over the past 6 months since we rescued
them.
If you would like to help with the cost of caring
for Earth, Wind & Fire, then please
consider
sponsoring one of them by contacting Cats’ Aid
on (01) 668 3529 or emailing catsaid@gmail.com

Sylvia

|
This is "Sylvia"
Ok I have to be honest... "Who is Sylvia?"
Sylvia has more complexes than any cat I have
come across. She is stunning and she knows it,
she is stubborn and she don't care who knows it.
A roly poly black and white girl age approx. 7 years.
She loves her food though. Sylvia was left behind
on a rural property. She had been spayed, thank
goodness, but left to her own devices she became
very independent. The property was finally sold and
"Get that cat away" was the order. She has a
secure
home with one of our volunteers, and by her own
choice she lives mainly outside. She is very timid
and shies away from human contact. Sylvia has
been with us for a while because we found it
difficult to rehome her due to her independent
and timid nature. She cannot be easily handled,
but one of her many endearing qualities is that
she will bring you mice by the dozen!
If you are would like to sponsor Sylvia,
please contact Cats' Aid on (01) 668 3529
or email catsaid@gmail.com

Magic
|
"Magic" is
a male cat approximately 5 years old.
Poor little Magic was found wandering in a housing
estate
in Kill, Co. Kildare in a confused and sorry state, completely
blind in both eyes. This
ginger & white cat is very loveable
but can be quite mischievous when he wants to!
He has
been living very happily for the past 4 years with one of our
core group members. He feels safe and secure in his familiar
surroundings.
If you would like to help with Magic’s care by
sponsoring
him, then please contact Cats’ Aid on (01) 668 3529.

Eppie
|
“Eppie”
and her little brother arrived into the
garden of one of our core group volunteers one
cold day in November 2006. They were only
5 months old, hungry and frightened.
It was
almost as if their instincts had led them to this
home of compassion and shelter. They were
both very timid and nervous, we have no doubt
they had been trying to survive on their own
outside for some time and were extremely wary
of human contact. Eppie’s brother was more
trusting than Eppie and slowly became more
confident being around people. Eppie sadly
remained very nervous, wouldn’t let anyone
touch her and despite plenty of TLC she could
not learn to trust again. We decided to give
Eppie’s brother the chance of a new life
and he was rehomed. Eppie
remains with
our core group volunteer and although still
cannot be handled, she feels happy and safe
and gets on well with her feline companions.
If you would like to help with Eppie’s care by
sponsoring her, please contact Cats’ Aid on

Daisy
|
“Daisy”,
Daisy. How
time flies. Daisy came into rescue with
her sister in 2003, aged 12 weeks. She is now nearly 4 years old.
We were undertaking a Trap Neuter & Release (TNR) programme
with a colony of stray cats in Coolock and were feeling very happy
with ourselves. A very kind guy let us use his back garden as a
base.
He had a very prickly bush in his garden, he was also doing some
building work so bricks and rubble lay under this bush and low and
behold two wee furry faces appeared. The guy, God bless him,
painstakingly removed the bricks one by one and gently pulled back
the bush, and out they came into the trap. Two tiny balls of hell
fire
and brimstone, these girls were not happy to see us. Daisy and her
sister Tiger Lilly. They were fostered with one of our core group
members. In the first year they were with her, Tiger Lilly came on
in leaps and bounds. Daisy was always shy, but not with other cats,
she loves the company of other cats. Sadly Tiger Lilly passed away
in foster care of an unknown illness at the age of 1 year. Daisy
thrives,
but remains very timid. She has come a long way from that little
ball of
hiss & spit back in 2003, but we feel she is probably too timid
to be
moved to another home, therefore she will remain under our care with
our foster volunteer.
If you would like to help Daisy by sponsoring her, please
contact
Cats' Aid on (01) 668 3529.

Felix
|
“Felix” is
the brother of Rachel (pictured below) and he
is approximately 6 years old. He
is a well-rounded semi
long-haired cat and is still a kitten at heart. Felix has the look
of innocence, even when he has been slightly naughty.
He socialises well with other cats and enjoys the outdoor life
and the thrill of the hunt. It takes Felix a long time to get to
know humans, but when he does he is loving and gentle,
although he will still retain his independent nature. It is for
this reason, his semi feral tendencies, that we have decided
Felix is not really suitable for rehoming. Perhaps a special
rural property would best suit his needs, but for the past few
years he has happily lived on the residence of one of our
core group members.
Felix would love his own sponsor to help with the financial
cost
of looking after him. If you would like to help, please contact
Cats’ Aid on (01) 668 3529.

Rachel
|
"Rachel" is a beautiful
tortie approximately 6 years old.
She is the brother of Felix (above). She is spayed and
vaccinated, very friendly and loves the company of other
cats. Like her brother,
she is semi feral, but lives
very happily with her brother in one of our core group
member’s homes.
If you would like to be Rachel’s sponsor to help with the
cost of looking after her, then please contact Cats’ Aid
on (01) 668 3529.

Peaches

Peaches & Daisy
|
“Peaches”
Peaches came into our care in June 2005 aged 3 years.
She was very very timid and nervous, and sadly, despite
receiving lots of TLC, this lovely cat has never lost her
nervousness… we can only wonder what bad experiences
she must have had in her life before she was brought to us.
We feel she is too timid to be moved to a new home, but
she is happy and content where she is and she knows she is
safe and warm there. She
is afraid of people but enjoys the
company of the other permanent foster cats, like Daisy (above).
If you would like to help with the cost of looking after
Peaches by sponsoring her, please call Cats' Aid
on (01) 668 3529 or email catsaid@gmail.com

Mindy
|

strangers and cannot be rehomed. She loves
to hunt and likes her breakfast hot!

her, please contact Cats' Aid on

Tumble
|
“Tumble”
Tumble is Mindy’s brother. They are very alike
but Tumble is much bigger… a lovely handsome
long haired fella! Tumble
and Mindy came into
our care aged 6 weeks. Tumble was covered
in lice when he arrived and although this was
successfully treated immediately, his coat
remained in a poor condition for a while and he
was also very shy so when potential new owners
came to see this little quiet kitten, they didn’t see
his potential and they didn’t give him a chance
so noone came forward to offer him & his sister
a home. Tumble is now 9 years old and is a
great big beautiful gentle sweetheart!
If you would like to help Tumble by sponsoring
him, please contact Cats’ Aid on (01) 668 3529.

Scarper (on the left)
with Peaches
|
“Scarper” is
a lovely female black cat aged
approximately 2 years. She came from Saggart
village and appeared to have been dumped.
She spent her time running around a block
of shops in a terrified state until someone
phoned us to come and help. We trapped
her and brought her into our care, but she
remains extremely nervous and timid and
gets very frightened if anyone attempts to
touch her. We have
decided she is far too
nervous to be rehomed so she will stay with
the core group volunteer who rescued her.
If you would like to help Scarper by sponsoring
her, please contact Cats’ Aid on (01) 668 3529.

Camera Shy
Herbert
lookalike!
|
“Herbert” -
Herbert is camera shy & won't co-operate
with our resident feline photographer!
We can tell you
that he is a handsome brown tabby.
Herbert was rescued
from Herbert Park in October 2006 when he, his mother
and brother were threatened with extermination as vermin.
He was only about 8 months old. He spent a miserable
week or two being boarded in kennels and it became
obvious that this terrified timid little boy wasn't suitable
for homing. Sadly he had to be separated from his family
but he is now living happily as an outdoor cat with one of
our volunteers and her other feline companions. Herbert
has had such a tough start to his young life – your
sponsorship could make things better.
If you are interested in sponsoring Herbert, please contact
Cats’ Aid on (01) 668 3529 or email catsaid@gmail.com

If you can sponsor any of these deserving cats, please write to
