Jack (August 2007)
Jack was rescued by Cats Aid in February 2006. He was brought in with his two sisters and all three of them were very very timid and scared. We placed them with one of our very experienced and wonderful foster carers, Lucy, and she gave them love and warmth and most importantly of all she gave them time and patience. They were afraid of people and just hid all the time and could not be handled. But over time and with tremendous dedication Lucy slowly gained their trust. They remained shy and still hid from strangers, as many nervous cats and kittens do. But after 9 months, Lucy felt that they were at last ready to move on and find loving permanent homes. Jack was the first to be homed, in December 2006. His two sisters were homed together a couple of months later. Jack’s new owner Hazel wrote to us recently enclosing a photo and asking that we put her gorgeous Jack up onto the Photo Gallery of our website. We are delighted to do so, it is lovely to hear how well Jack is doing, and below you can read what Hazel said about him… ”I got Jack from Cats Aid in December of last year, when I got him he was scared and jumpy. But now he's just adorable, he’s so funny he's the topman of the house!! He's my alarm clock in the morning, he always has me up for work on time, and he always makes sure to let me know when it’s dinner time!! He's the cutest cat I've ever seen and he's so loveable. He loves female attention from any girl that walks in, he does be rolling round the floor looking for a rub! He's really come a long way since when I first got him.”
Mamog (April 2007)
Abandoned by her owners, Mamog and her female kittens were kindly neutered and taken in by Cats Aid when they recovered. The kittens were rehomed and Lorna decided to take Mamog home with her.
Greebo (April 2007)
Living wild, Greebo limped unhappily & battle weary into Lorna’s garden and her heart one Summers day 2 years ago. Now adored, spoiled, fat and very happy! He has the sweetest nature and loves nothing more than curling up on your lap (or shoulder or pillow) for a nap.
Mythin (April 2007)
Mythyn was brought into Cats Aid care in the Summer of 2006. He was approx. one year old, a very timid and reclusive little cat who hid all the time.  He was placed in foster care and through the love and dedication of his fosterer, Lorna, Mythyn slowly came out of his shell and became an absolutely adorable playful inquisitive little cat. This photo of Mythyn enjoying the sun was taken by Lorna. Mythyn is now happily rehomed with a new family and thriving.
Toto & Bawneen and Blackie (January 2007)

Mark and Patricia are regular visitors to the Cats Aid website and have kindly sent in a photo of their two beautiful Birman cats, Toto & Bawneen.  They also have Blackie, who is their lovely 3 year old female rescue cat.  Blackie is quite shy and unfortunately she does not like Bawneen or Toto so she resides at the other end of the house! ”Bawneen (Carrickfern Eurydice) is 18 months old and he is a Blue Point Birman whose colouring is a blueish grey face and a dark cream body with 4 white paws.  Toto (Carrickfern Firecracker) is 6 months old and he is a Red Tabby Point which is a little more unusual.  He has marmalade ears & nose and a ringed tail.  They both have vivid sapphire blue eyes which is a characteristic of all Birmans.  Their coats are semi-longhair and it’s very dense, consequently it does not mat. They need to be brushed about twice a week.  Birmans are very people-orientated and Bawneen and Toto are no different, they love to watch everything that is happening in our house. They live indoors permanently but they will walk on a harness so that they will get outside when the weather is a little milder. Birman litters are always small, 2 to 3 kittens, so they are difficult to acquire.  We have shown both of them at various Cat Shows and it is something both we and they enjoy.”

Salem and Gizmo, 15 weeks old, the are two brothers who were found in a box along with the mother cat and two sisters, Tabita & Precious.  Somebody had left them there to die.  A very nice lady found them and handed them into Cats Aid.  Their mother died when they were a couple of days old and I had to hand-rear them with a bottle.  Their two sisters were homed with a lovely family in Rathgar and are doing great and much loved!
