Adopt a Cat or Kitten

Updated  27/07/10

We urgently need people able to give rescued cats permanent homes - this would enable us to rescue many more.
We do not have a shelter or sanctuary, our cats & kittens are looked after in the homes of our fostering volunteers until they are adopted, we are very happy for you to come and see any of them, if genuinely interested in adopting.
Please leave your name, address and evening landline tel. no. on (01) 668 3529.
Do please phone the helpline instead of emailing as this goes straight to the homing coordinator, whereas emails have to be passed on. It can be confusing when both email and the helpline have been used.

She is an adorable and funny cat, chatty, friendly and loves company.

She is good with young children, has never shown aggression and is very playful.

A real lap cat and likes nothing more than curling up on her human for a snooze.

It will break our hearts to give her away but we cannot keep her under the current circumstances.

Meet Freddie & Mercury
freddie1

freddie3
These very handsome cats (Freddie, male ginger tabby), &
Mercury (female Tortoiseshell), are siblings, approx 1 year old.

They are lively, active cats who love to play, so they would welcome
the space of a garden after the initial settling in period.

They welcome their foster carers home with affection.

Freddie & Mercury would suit a home with a small family.

They are a great team, so we would like to home them together.

They have been neutered & spayed.

Meet Mursik
''

''
Mursik is a magnificent long-haired black & white cat.

He is very quiet & calm; he is toilet trained & vaccinated.
He needs to be groomed regularly as he is long-haired.

Mursik is FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) positive.

This does not affect him & he is a healthy boy.
He is not sick; he just has the virus.

Some people are nervous of FIV but we can allay their fears.

We have many FIV cats who live happy, healthy lives & give much affection & joy to their families.

We can provide advice & reassurance about FIV.
Because of the virus Mursik needs to be an indoor cat & preferably an only cat.

He can be left alone during working hours but he enjoys company & he will make a loving companion.

His owner reluctantly has to find a home for Mursik as she is returning home.
Mursik
If you would like to adopt this gorgeous cat please phone Natalia on 086 857 3800.

Meet Ali
''

''
Ali is a 3-year-old, beautiful, robust, white with black, neutered female.

Ali was found with her 3 kittens, now weaned, and is more than ready for a home to call her own.
She is incredibly outgoing and adventurous and will settle into any home immediately.

Ali is very affectionate and loves people - she will follow you around and wants to be wherever you are.
Ali loves attention and would love to be the sole object of your affection, but she is ok with other cats and would even tolerate the right dog as long as she believes she is top cat.

Ali would be best suited to a home with slightly older children (8+) because she sometimes likes to "kiss" you to show her appreciation when she is being petted and doesn't understand that we humans don't kiss with our teeth!

Ali is perfectly litter-trained and a complete character.
She would be a very entertaining and affectionate companion - the purrfect lapcat.
Ali If you would like to adopt this adorable cat please phone Cats Aid on

Meet Bella  *Homed*

Bella is a beautiful chocolate seal point Burmese cross.

She is approx 3yrs old, spayed and microchipped with all vaccinations up-to-date.

Bella currently lives with 2 other cats and 3 young children.

She is a bit nervous but when she trusts you she loves to be stroked & brushed.

She would best be suited to a house where she would be the only cat. She needs company & space.

Birmans are a sociable, intelligent breed.

She will need regular brushing to help her keep her beautiful coat in top condition.

Bella urgently needs to be re-homed due to change in owners circumstances.
Bella

He is a gentle boy and very affectionate.

He loves to follow you around talking away; he won't leave your side.

He is quite happy to amuse himself until his human returns; then he
likes his attention. He settles quietly at night.
Clarence

Meet Solomon & Salem  *Homed*
''

''
Solomon is about 8 /9 months old and was found with Salem who is over a year old.

They had been dumped and left to fend for themselves.
They need an adult home. Salem is very fond of male company; Solomon is more happy go lucky, as he is still a kitten in many respects.

They are best friends and look to each other for reassurance so need to be homed together.

Their new owner must be kind and patient as Salem is not 100 % sure with strangers, does not like being picked up or cuddled (like many cats) and it takes him a long time to trust anybody.

They would love access to a very secure garden. They are both litter trained and use the scratchpost and not the furniture for sharpening their claws.

They have both been neutered and vaccinated.

Solomon & Salem
